Site Reliability Engineer / Production Engineer - Instabase Inc

I have two roles at Instabase.

Product Reliability Engineer

At Instabase, I took the lead in deploying our sophisticated tool, which encompassed over 50 microservices running on Kubernetes, across a variety of client infrastructures including GCP, AWS, On-Prem and Azure. My role required a deep dive into each client-specific infrastructure, where I conducted extensive research and troubleshooting to ensure seamless integrations and optimal performance. Being in a client-facing position, I adeptly addressed and resolved a myriad of complex infrastructure challenges that were unique to each client environment.

Site Reliability Engineer

During my transition to the SRE/DevOps role, I championed several pivotal projects. I spearheaded the upgrade of EKS from versions 1.21/1.22 to 1.23 and modernized our foundational container by upgrading our Base Container from Ubuntu 22.10 to 23.04, which streamlined the operations of over 40 services. Furthermore, I implemented strategic S3 lifecycle policies and crafted a script that led to a dramatic reduction in ECR image storage by over 98%, bringing the count down by 85%. My innovative approach also included pioneering the integration of Docker Backend cache with docker buildx in an S3 bucket, which significantly boosted our system's efficiency and responsiveness.

    My Thoughts

    Computers work on logic. Everything works because it has been designed to work like that (even AI) and it was designed by a human. You can do the same. Once you understand and get a gist of this, you will realize it's not really that difficult. Like everything, the beginning will be difficult but if you are trying to learn and having issues, feel free to reach out and I will try to help in any way I can.

    I do believe learning technology has no downsides in your life. It helps you learn new skills and at the same time, it gives you a totally different perspective to look at problems - in technology and in real life.
